Our customers choose whether they want to have their kitchen boxes brushed and rolled in place or sprayed. The choice between processes includes choosing between two paints: Emerald is not as durable, but can be easily touched up. Gallery series can only be sprayed and has more durability but cannot be touched up. There is a pricing difference because the processes differ from painting by hand vs. spraying, We have used both of these high end paints that result in beautiful kitchens.
Package One - The doors and drawer fronts are sprayed off site, while the boxes are brushed and rolled in place. Emerald Urethane is a "best-in-class" quality interior enamel that can be brushed, rolled, or sprayed, making it a versatile choice. It delivers the look, feel and durability of an oil based enamel. Since the surfaces do not need to be completely protected it is a less expensive option.

Finish: Although there is a slight difference between the sprayed doors and the brushed boxes, very little of the boxes can be seen. The reduced price fits with many of our customers' budgets. Brushed/Rolled surfaces are not as smooth as a sprayed finish.

Touch-ups: Can be touched up easily, which is a big plus for maintenance or small repairs.

Durability: Good for residential use, but not as hard or wear-resistant as the Gallery Series.

Use Case: Ideal for trim, doors, and cabinets where flexibility in application and touch-up is important
Package Two - The entire kitchen is sprayed with Gallery Series paint designed specifically for cabinetry and mill work. Doors and Drawer fronts are removed and sprayed off site. Before the boxes are sprayed the kitchen is carefully covered so that all surfaces that will not be sprayed are protected. The Sherwin Williams Gallery Series paint is designed exclusively for spraying and is not suitable for brushing or rolling. The processes take more time and the product is more expensive.

Bottom Line
If you want a paint that’s easy to apply and maintain, Package One -Emerald Urethane is your go-to. But if you’re after a flawless, ultra-durable finish and are okay with committing to spray-only application and full resprays for touch-ups, Package Two - Gallery Series is a premium choice.
